Highlands and Islands animal rescue and rehoming centre
Originally opened in 2001, our animal rescue and rehoming centre for the Highlands and Islands was refurbished in 2012. Covering a vast, diverse geographical area, the centre provides refuge to animals in need from Inverness and the surrounding area as well as some which are rescued from Scotland’s most remote places.
The centre has:
- 20 dog kennels, including an isolation area to treat canines with diseases
- A main cattery with space for 14 cats or kittens, as well as an isolation zone
- Vivarium for reptiles
- A small animal room which can accommodate 15
- Space for three birds or cockerels
- A wildlife shed to keep injured wild animals until they can be moved to the National Wildlife Rescue Centre for treatment.
